The flight to Labuan was great. Lyssa was such a doll. We took the evening flight out and she slept for half the journey. The other half was spent playing on the tray tables and being passed back and forth from atok to ummi to mommy.
My sister surprised us all. When we arrived my BIL picked us up with Daniel (my sister’s youngest). My BIL said he had to make a quick stop to pick up some stuff first before going back to their place. When we arrived at his “friend’s” place Daniel kept saying, “ni rumah abang adik..ni rumah abang adik…” We didn’t understand what he meant. We just thought it was Daniel’s “abang” from his taska. Then my sister opened the door and yelled “SURPRISE!!”. Haaa… they moved! From their tiny 2 bedroom apartment to a 3 bedroom double storey link. She kept it a secret from my mom. Keeping secrets from my mom is really hard i tell ya!!
It was really HOT the first few days there! We slept with the windows opened and I had to change the ubat nyamuk thing several times in the middle of the night to make sure no mosquitoes gigit Lyssa. We didn’t really go anywhere there. Just lepak2 kat rumah with the boys. They can be quite a handful. We did go to Anjung Ketam for dinner. SOOOO YUMMY!!!
At the last minute hubby booked us a trip to Bandung. With my PIL and BIL. So we flew back from Labuan (Lyssa slept the whole way back and only woke up when the plane landed) and flew to Bandung the very next day. Penat ok!
But Bandung was so much fun! And exhausting! Lyssa was the champion shopper. We bought a lot of her clothes there. It was really2 cheap! Lyssa alone had one suitcase full of clothes. Our tour guide was great. He understood what we said and he knew where to bring us. We stayed here. It’s a bit far from the outlets cos most of the hotels were fully booked but it’s close to Pasar Baru (the place that sells kain2 ela). At about RM30 per meter for french lace, I myself bought 3 pairs. Tak tahan. And matchy2 shantung silk for hubby’s baju melayu at around RM5 per meter!
Just a few tips if you’re visiting Bandung with your baby:
~Pre-book a car and guide from here. It saves you the headache from trying to find cabs.
~Wear your baby. I used a sling I borrowed from my SIL. Much2 easier to handle compared to a stroller. We were out from 9am to 9pm daily and she slept soundly several times in the sling.
~A sling + a nursing shirt = much2 easier! At one point, I was browsing around with Lyssa still suckling. Hubby didn’t even notice that the baby was drinking.
~Having other family members around helps! Lyssa was passed from one person to another when mommy wanted to shop.
~If you’re flying AirAsia, buy the express boarding! Tak kuasa nak berebut!
~Book massages every night for your aching feet and body. At only RM40 per hour for the hotel’s spa service, you can’t afford to miss this treat!!!
